HFAC Comp is Harvard’s premier intro finance course — learn everything you need to know about traditional finance or quantitative finance through our completion-based, lecture series comp. Join over 400+ compers each year in the largest financial education program of its kind at Harvard.

Traditional Finance Comp
10-week completion based lecture series:
Lectures: Wednesdays, 6-7pm in Sever 113
Sections: 1-hour, taught by HFAC Board throughout the week
We teach you how to recognize good and bad businesses, read financial statements, quantify the value of a business, articulate your beliefs in a stock pitch, and how to think like an investor — all while preparing you for recruiting
Compete in the HFAC Comp Stock Pitch Competition, with $400 in prizes, to graduate comp
Comp Socials, Recruiting Workshops, Board Meet & Greets and other events throughout the semester!
Quant Comp
10-week completion based lecture series:
Lectures: Tuesdays, 7-8pm in Harvard Hall 202
Biweekly Sections: 1-hour, taught by HFAC Quant
We teach you how to approach market making, quantitative research & trading as well as prediction markets
Learn quant technicals and interview prep while playing trading games, Mario Kart simulations and more for cash prizes
Comp Socials, Poker Tournaments, Recruiting Workshops and other events throughout the semester!
Graduate Experience
Graduates join a community of 1,000+ members, gain access to HFAC’s mailing list with exclusive job postings and opportunities, access exclusive recruiting events and networking opportunities, and are invited to apply to manage the $100,000+ fund.
