About the Fund

Founded in 1996

HFAC’s fund is the largest and oldest student-run hedge fund recognized on campus. Senior Investment Research (SIR) manages approximately $100,000 in assets employed in a long-short equity strategy. We maintain a concentrated book of 5-10 positions, each with a 12-48 month time horizon, and target 60-90% net exposure.

Members are selected among graduates of HFAC comp through a highly competitive process, yielding a 2.7% acceptance rate. SIR maintains an active membership of approximately 20-25 students across all class years.

The fund’s returns have beat the S&P500 by an average of 8.4% over the last 5 years. Over the last two years, the fund has outperformed the S&P500 by 19.1% on an IRR basis.

Applications for Fall 2026 SIR are now Open!

*Open to comp graduates
